Structural Glycobiology in the Age of Electron Cryo-Microscopy
This is a very timely publication, as resolution revolution in electron cryo-microscopy (cryo-EM) which is now routinely delivering 3D structures has not been critically evaluated as regards to glycoropteins. The review examines the progress being made on providing automated model building and validation tools for structural glycobiology. Along with a presentation of cryo-EM, the article shows that structure re-refinement with the latest methods can produce better structures of glycoproteins automatically.

As interesting is the observation that high-resolution cryo-EM structures show fewer pyranose high-energy conformations than X-ray ones
